Workout resumed… These are the words spoken by my parents fitness tracker app every time we stopped/started walking again during our hike. It was hilarious..
A few weeks ago, early in the morning we hiked the Doris Duke Loop (Doris Duke Wildlife Sanctuary) in Orange County, NY. My dad calls it a loop because you literally take the whole path around from start to finish. It’s a little over 3 miles and part of Sterling Forest State Park. Though the views are limited we did see cliffs, beaver dams, and lush forest.
It was so peaceful and calming walking through these woods. For a moment, you are taken far away from the every day stresses of life. Here are some pictures from our tranquil hike.
There is something so rewarding about hiking. It’s our favorite way to keep active without feeling like we are forcing ourselves to exercise. We recommend you find a local hike to explore and enjoy the wonders around you.
